2nd placed Stone continued to pile the pressure on league leaders Shrewsbury with yet another high scoring win against Leek CSOB Ladies. In very cold conditions and a boggy pitch both teams battled hard.
The goals soon started to come for Stone with Laura Barker, Lydia Bennion, Vikki Garner and Mollie Prime all scoring in the first half. More chances came however the Leek keeper did well, keeping the score down to 4-0.
Half time saw a quick turn around and the Dominoes came out again stronger and more goals came from Vikki Garner netting her second of the game, Holly Fowell with a header in from a Kerry Mccourt corner.
The 7th goal was an own goal hitting the Leek defender from another quality cross in from the left hand side. Leek who are 11th in the table have improved dramatically from last year and played some good passing football at times however Stone’s quality shone through to pull off the 7-0 win.
Player of the Match was Lydia Bennion for her outstanding performance on the right wing. Next Sunday see’s 5th placed Brereton Town head to Yarnfield Lane. 2pm kick off.
