J5528-UTX-Music-Live-Texas-fixture-imageMulti-platinum and Ivor Novello Award winning band Texas have announced they will play Uttoxeter Racecourse as part of their 25th anniversary celebration tour.

The rock/pop band from Glasgow will take to the road playing 15 dates throughout the UK before rocking the beautiful countryside racecourse on 16 May 2015.

Executive Director of Uttoxeter Racecourse, David MacDonald, said

‘I am so excited that we have managed to book one of the most successful bands of the last 30 years. Our concert in 2014 with UB40 was a huge success but I fully expect Texas to out sell last year and we are all looking forward to what will be an amazing night.”

Acclaimed as one of the greatest modern British front-women, Sharleen Spiteri will lead an electrifying performance of the bands multi-million selling greatest hits, including “Black Eyed Boy”, “I Don’t Want A Lover”, “Say What You Want”, “Summer Son”, “Inner Smile”, plus tracks from their new album 25 due to be released on 16 February 2015.

As one of the UK’s most successful bands with 25 years’ experience, this isn’t the first time Texas have mixed music with horse racing! Sharleen said

“we are really looking forward to the excitement of racing followed by the thrill of playing to a huge crowd within such beautiful surroundings. We will be playing some of our greatest hits and brand new songs as well as sharing a few stories in celebration of our 25th anniversary.”

The concert will take place after racing on Saturday, 16 May 2015. Tickets are already on sale both online at www.uttoxeter-racecourse.co.uk or over the phone from the racecourse office on 01889 562561. Anyone buying either a Grandstand and Paddock or Premier ticket will get to enjoy a full race meeting followed by the concert.
