Denstone pupils out to slay the “poverty dragon”

Pupils at Denstone College Preparatory School showed their patriotic spirit on St Georges Day. Pupils paid £2.00 to wear a rose and home clothes and also brought in cakes which were sold at the end of the school day to help raise as much money as possible for the charity. All of the money raised will be donated to the “toilet twinning” campaign to provide clean water, basic sanitation, and hygiene education in countries such as Haiti and Nepal.

The toilet twinning campaign hopes to stop three children under the age of five dying every minute because of dirty water and poor sanitation and ensure that a third of the people on the planet have somewhere safe, clean and hygienic to go to the loo.
