Stone Youth Theatre’s performance troupe preparing for busy season ahead

Hot on the heels of its hugely successful inaugural production of ‘A Chorus Line’ at the Mitchell Arts Centre in Hanley last month, Stone Youth Theatre (SYT) is back rehearsing at Rooftop Studios for another busy season which will see the formation of its much-anticipated performance troupe.

Formed from the same pool of talented youngsters which recently received such widespread acclaim from audiences and local media alike during the run at the Mitch, the troupe will be available for hire to perform at showcase events or private parties. Any business, charity or society seeking to do so will be asked for a donation towards SYT’s running costs. Studio Director at Rooftop Studios, Laura Keeling, says:

“Stone Youth Theatre is a not-for-profit organisation aimed at providing talented local youngsters with a platform to perform and build their professional CV. It takes £2000 to run SYT and put on a show, so we need to come up with ways of raising this to help cover costs.

“The performance troupe is central to this and, whilst there is no fixed fee to hire the troupe, donations of any kind will be most welcome. Businesses or groups seeking to hire the troupe will not only be getting a great performance by some very talented individuals trained by professional artists, they will also be supporting a local initiative and helping youngsters take another step toward fulfilling their dreams.”

As well as forthcoming troupe performances, SYT IS also working hard towards their next production of the musical ‘Rent’, which will take place later this year.

To hire the SYT troupe for your party, fete, carnival or fair, please contact Laura Keeling on 01785 761233 or email to discuss the performance needs of your event.
