Last month we carried two photos from an Alleynes re-union on March 21st – the class of ‘73 at the Stone House Hotel. And then this was kindly sent in – another re-union of Alleyne’s Grammar School this time 65 years on and held at ‘The Mill Restaurant’, Stone on … the 21st March.

What are the chances of that? Did both groups know they were all re-uniting on the same night? And there’s another in the pipeline … for the Saturday June 13th for those now in their mid-sixties who left Alleynes Grammar in the mid to late Sixties! (Classes of 1965 to 1969 Leavers) – this time at Granvilles.

What with regular re-unions for Granville Secondary Modern, it looks like all of these re-unions could well be adding to the local economy as well as bringing friends back together.

Thanks to Marjorie Pugh who not only sent the photo in – but for what must have been the hardest won caption ever. What a splendid effort – and to all readers planning future re-unions, please keep us informed – 6 weeks notice is always best – and keep on sending in the pics – ideally captioned, but I do appreciate what a chore that can be – especially all the neé’s.
