Katharine House Hospice is urging local people and businesses to help support its vital work in the community by sponsoring an hour of nursing care at the Hospice.
The face of this year’s appeal is Advanced Nurse Practitioner Cathy Browning, of the Day Therapies Unit. Cathy said
“All of the nurses at Katharine House Hospice are second to none. It’s hard to imagine that the knowledge, care and compassion that they have could be found anywhere else. We all strive to give the best possible care to our patients and their families, nothing is too much trouble. All of us will go the extra mile and the extra special things that we do for our patients is the norm to us, it’s just part of the day”.
Hospice Head of Fundraising, Sarah Hulson-Beech says
“just £15.00 will help nurses provide one hour of care at Katharine House. Our nurses achieve a lot within an hour – helping our patients to live their lives to the full in the time they have left. From symptom relief to supporting families, our nurses provide around the clock care, 7 days a week in the in-patient unit – and a range of services for day care patients, carers and families. All of our services are provided completely free of charge. Our nurses can only carry on caring because of the kindness and generosity of local people; we ask that our supporters give what they can to support the appeal”.
This year’s appeal is being kindly supported by Dixon & Co, Stafford. Thanks to them more money raised from the appeal with go directly to providing free nursing care at Katharine House Hospice.
