Conservation groups across Staffordshire will converge at a Trust’s Wildlife Fair at the end of May.

Staffordshire Wildlife Fair will be hosted at Staffordshire Wildlife Trust’s Wolseley Centre base, near Rugeley, on Sunday 31 May between 11am and 5pm.

The event is part of WildFest 2015, a series of events taking place at the Wolseley Centre during the end of May and in June, and is supported by Crayfish Design.

The Staffordshire Wildlife Fair event, which is sponsored by consumer optics firm Opticron, will give visitors the chance to meet wildlife experts and ask for advice, see demonstrations from local artists, buy outdoor and wildlife goods, get hands on with nature activities and crafts, join a guided walk or listen to a wildlife talk in the conference centre.

The event will also include a number of wildlife themed items to buy from stalls, and several demonstrations, including from chainsaw artist Anthony Hammond, Chase Interactive Photography and there will be the chance to buy items like bird feeders, bird food and nest boxes.

On the day, visitors will also be able to book onto a number of activities taking place, including pond dipping, Naturally Art (including willow weaving) and bug hunting.

Vicki Liu, Wolseley Centre warden, said:

“The Wildlife Fair is as much for the enthusiast as it is for the whole family.
“There will be so much going on during the day and as well as the activities, people can just come for a look around the Wolseley Centre for a relaxing afternoon, too.
“We are really looking forward to it. If you book in advance of the day, you also get £1 knocked off your ticket price, so it’ll be £4 for adults or £3 for children.”
