Oulton Watercolour Society Exhibition – June 6th

Oulton Watercolour Society Exhibition – Saturday 6th June 10am To 4.30pm

We would like to take this opportunity in thanking all the visitors who attended last year’s exhibition, without your support it wouldn’t have been the success that it was. We are pleased to announce that the society is holding their annual exhibition, entrance is free.

Refreshments and a Raffle (Hamper) will be organized both modestly priced. Club members will be giving demonstrations and on hand to answer any questions relating to the paintings and painting classes.

This time we will be adding a Kiddies Craft Corner, this was a big success at the Art & Craft Exhibition.
The exhibition gives us the opportunity to promote the club which has been in existence since 1967 we are the oldest painting group in Stone, a number of visitors who come to our event have said we should change the name to the “friendly society”.

We are always on the lookout for new members, just to give you an idea of the cost. We run 2 terms per year (33 weeks in total), each term costs £40.00 which works out at less than £2.50 per week and for this we are very fortunate to have the tutoring services of our president Doris Brown S.W.A. (Society of Woman Artists) who was the key founder. Her work has been exhibited by the Royal Institute of Watercolour Painters and the British Watercolour Society in London; this in itself is no mean feat.

Whether you are experienced or complete novices all will be very welcome, members are also on hand to give friendly advice.
The object of the exhibition is to not only showcase our work but with the sale of our paintings helps us to raise funds to cover the rising costs of hiring Oulton Village Hall, for the weekly classes and the setting up of the exhibitions, but most of all to encourage future artists for the clubs future.
