On Saturday March 28th the Stone Lions held a sponsored walk, starting and finishing at the Greyhound at Burston with distances of 2, 4 or 6 miles depending on enthusiasm! The aim of the walk was to give groups and individuals the chance to raise money for their chosen charities or good causes.
A welcome break at the Parish Church of All Saints Sandon enabled the walkers to have a cuppa and a biscuit, whilst there a number of people took the opportunity to view the Bell tower kindly led by Anne Springer who also provided the refreshments, raising £41.
The money raised from the registration fees was £82.50 which will has been added to the Lions Charity account. Two individual walkers raised £200 for Breast Cancer Research and £136.00 for the First Responders.
The walk can be a good fundraiser for worthy causes and gives people the opportunity to raise those much needed funds
