Yarlet School was delighted to welcome celebrated local artist, Emma Joustra, to officially open its new Pre-Prep adventure playground on Friday 20th March. Yarlet has a long-standing connection with Emma, who first captured the spirit of Yarlet in her characteristic style in 1996 and has continued to be associated with the school ever since.
The new playground equipment, known as the ‘Glenduckie’, has been introduced to enhance Pre-Prep pupils’ recreational activities and was chosen by the school’s staff as it enabled the physical, imaginative and creative needs of the children to be met during break times, as well as being lots of fun!
The equipment cost £12,000 and was generously funded by the school’s Fundraising Committee, who work tirelessly to organise social events, such as the Yarlet Ball, Christmas Fayre and Quiz Night. The Quiz Night alone raised £900, of which £260 was donated to Breakthrough Breast Cancer. The success of these events is thanks to the enthusiasm of our pupils and the support of our generous parents
