A woodland walk for hospice patients

Perkins Engines recently volunteered time and resources to build a lovely woodland walk in Katharine House Hospice Hospice’s garden for patients and families to enjoy.
The walk which runs through some spare land at the side of the hospice garden, offers a peaceful place for patients to spend time and for their families to visit.
Mark Stones from Perkins said “We have raised quite a lot of money for the hospice with various events but we wanted to do something a little bit more permanent. We saw the waste ground at the hospice and thought it would be ideal to create a woodland walk there as a nice retreat for people to explore.”
The team from Perkins spent time at the hospice planning and constructing the walk and the end result is providing a great deal of pleasure for local people at the hospice.
Katharine House Hospice Corporate Fundraiser, Becky Martin says: ‘We’re delighted with the woodland walk. The walk will allow patients and their families to spend time together in the hospice garden which is looking particularly stunning at this time of year. We really can’t thank Perkins enough for their expertise in building the walk and for all the wonderful support they provide to Katharine House”
