Local independent wine retailer, the Wolseley Wine Loft, is getting into the spirit of summer this July as it joins the national ‘31 day of German Riesling’ campaign. Based on research that says it takes 30 days to form a habit, the goal is to share the Riesling love by dedicating the whole month of July to Germany’s most famous grape variety.
Ranging from fruity and aromatic to racy and bone dry, Rieslings offer something to suit every palate and pair brilliantly with food. To mark the occasion, some special limited edition Rieslings are set to arrive in ‘the loft’ this month – including the stunning ‘The Spectre’ 2013 Riesling. Hailing from Mosel this is a fruity and very floral wine, with delicious apple and peach flavours and a ‘zingy’ finish, which matches brilliantly with dishes like Thai fishcakes or creamy cheeses. It will be available alongside the shop’s usual delectable selection of Rieslings. Proprietor Brenda Rhodes says:
“With summer looking like it’s eventually arrived Riesling is a great choice – whether you’re looking for a bottle to chill down and enjoy on its own or to accompany anything from classic fish dishes to spicy Asian food.”
To mark the event, the Wolseley Wine Loft, which is located between Stone and Rugeley at Wosleley Bridge, will be offering a 10% discount on purchases of two or more bottles of Riesling throughout July.
The Wolseley Wine Loft is open Thu/Fri 12noon – 7pm, Sat 11am – 7pm and Sun 11am – 4.30pm. www.wolseleywineloft.co.uk
