New York singer-songwriter to perform in Eccleshall

Diane Ponzio

Diane Ponzio, the New York singer-songwriter and Martin Guitar ambassador, will be paying a visit to Eccleshall as part of her 2015 UK tour. She will be performing ‘Upstairs At The Oak’ at The Royal Oak on Saturday 5th September.

Born and raised in New York City, Diane is a drama graduate of the ‘famed’ High School of Performing Arts. Her career began with her performing in the clubs of Greenwich Village and she now sings her songs all over the world… a global minstrel.

In 1985, having honed her skills as a performer, guitarist, singer, and songwriter, she wrote a letter to C.F. Martin IV, the CEO of the Martin Guitar company, which earned her an opportunity to travel on behalf of the company, playing her songs, and helping to tell the Martin Story. Her long time association with Martin Guitars has resulted in thousands of appearances, and two signature model guitars that bear her name.

Diane Ponzio plays acoustic folk that feels like jazz and features strong melodies, haunting use of language, a provocative, saxophone-like voice, an enviable guitar style and a charismatic stage presence.

“Every time she plays, I can’t help but feel she’s playing just for me. Then I look around the audience, and it seems as if everyone else feels the same way.” C.F. Martin IV, CEO, Martin Guitar Company:
