Tim Joyce became President of Rotary in Stone on 1st July 2015, taking over the reins from Len Bassett.

Tim is a Professional Electrical Engineer who has specialised in metering technology for many years. He is married (to Kate) with two grown up children. He was previously President of Stone Rotary in 1992/93 and has been Secretary for more years than he cares to recall!

Tim is a member of the Stone Festival Committee, and is well known amongst local community groups as the planner for Westbridge Park on Carnival Day, as well as contributing to the overall organisation of the week long Festival

Tim paid tribute to his predecessor and expressed a wish to build on the very solid achievements of recent years. In particular he aims to further develop the Club’s already very strong local community efforts.

The Club is looking to recruit new members to help it continue in its strong history of service to the community and Tim said:

“There are general misconceptions about Rotary, these days we are very informal and people don’t realise the wealth of humanitarian work that Rotary is responsible for. The truth is our members are extremely active people who not only give back to their communities, but have a lot of fun whilst doing it.

“People get to meet new friends, build business contacts, develop their personal skills to help others and try things they would never normally have thought of doing. Rotary really is an organisation that can open doors.”
