Stone Christian Aid collections 2015

The amount collected for Christian Aid from the Stone this year is £9,220.17, Stone area organiser Margaret Thompstone reports. This includes £154.50 collected in Morrisons store in Stone. With Giftaid on almost half of the donations adding an extra £907.20, the final total comes to £10,127.37. The area covers Barlaston, Swynnerton, Yarnfield, Cotes Heath, Standon, Fulford, Hilderstone, Oulton, Aston, Tittensor and all the churches in Stone itself.

£180.35 sets a woman up with a cow and two goats, including vaccines, and a 3-day business skills training course, which enables her gain status and a voice in her community and a means of supporting her family for years to come. £5 will buy a mosquito net for protection against malaria. With this amount of money Christian Aid will be able to help 55 women to get on their feet, or save the lives of 2,000 children.

Once again the collections have shown the generosity of the people of Stone and Christian Aid would like to thank everyone who organised, donated, distributed, collected and helped to raise this magnificent amount.
