A special charity music event is bringing some of the UK’s top Northern Soul DJs to Stafford’s ‘Top of The World’. The venue was popular for Northern Soul fans in the 1980s and now the charity Street Child is holding a one-off, all vinyl event in aid of the orphans of Ebola, to be held on Friday 23rd October in the nostalgic Stafford venue.

“All the DJs and the venue management are generously donating their time and services for free,” says Jane Green, Midlands Fundraiser for Street Child. “100% of ticket sales will go straight to helping the thousands of children left devastated by this horrific disease. I used to go to the TOTW as a teenager myself and am looking forward to a great night out there again and for a great cause.”

The DJ line-up is led by Kev Roberts, who is the UK’s top Northern Soul promoter. Kev runs events all over the country and in his hey day was a DJ at the famous Wigan Casino, as well as a regular at the Stafford venue.

“When Jane asked me to get involved with this event I couldn’t refuse – and it’s for a great cause. 100% of ticket sales will go to help the orphans of Ebola,” says Kev.

Kev will be joined by 5 other DJs on the 23rd October; Nige Brown ( Kings Hall Stoke), Sean Chapman ( Prestatyn and Whitby Weekenders), Ted Massey (Kings Hall Stoke), Rob Smith (Top of the World All Nighter original) and Ozz ( Wolverhampton Civic Hall)
All three dance floors at the Top of the World and Couture venue will be in action for this special event and fans are already booking tickets from around the UK. The evening starts at 9pm and ends at 2am.

“It’s going to be an exciting evening,” says Jane, “with a lot of memories for Stafford folk who remember the good old days of TOTW and a great reason to meet up with friends in Stafford.”

You’re advised to book early – tickets in advance from mon 10/www.theticketsellers.co.uk/ for just £10.
