Congratulations and Celebrations for 3rd Eccleshall Guides

Five girls from 3rd Eccleshall Guides have gained the highest award a Guide can achieve, the Baden Powell Challenge Award.

Kirsty Charlesworth, Sarah Horton, Ella Wigfall-Gamble, Olivia Williams and Molly Withers have worked towards this award over a number of years. During this time they have had tremendous fun and enjoyed a wide range of different challenges such as team work, global issues, improving their interpersonal and life skills and being involved in active citizenship to develop their rights and responsibilities.

The skills they have gained will stand them in good stead in their future lives and we hope that they will look back on their days at Guides with fondness and gratitude for what they have learned and experienced. We also hope sometime in the future the girls will become leaders themselves thereby affording other girls the opportunity of a guiding experience.

Whilst recognising the girls outstanding achievements we must not forget the invaluable contribution and support they have received from their Guide Leaders in particular Nikki Holdcroft, Ann Easter , Becky Plant and Adviser, Alma Thompson.

To have one Guide in a Unit gain a Baden Powell Challenge Award is wonderful but to have five Guides all from the same Unit is incredible and gives us good reason to celebrate here in Stone and Eccleshall Girlguiding.
