Antique & Fine Art sale approaching – September 26th

Potteries Auctions have an Antique & Fine Art sale approaching – September 26th.

They have a number of interesting and rare items in this sale including rare character jugs with a collection of no1 editions, a superb 1920’s bronze figure “The Cockfight” by Sophie-Victoire Debry (estimate £4000-6000) and an original oil painting by Robert Lenkiewicz (Estimate £40,000-£60,000).

Also a rare Royal Doulton advertising figure ‘The Sentinel’, as it has many local connotations. It was produced locally by Royal Doulton for a company in Shrewsbury. Handwritten to the base is ‘potted by Royal Doulton for the Sentinel Waggon Works Ltd of Shrewsbury’, impressed date 1921, height 44cm (estimate £4000-6000) We believe this could be a one off. It’s an old piece but its in superb condition.

Painting by Robert Lenkiewicz ‘The Flaying of Marsyas’ its been in a private collection since 2005 so not been seen for some years. It was also sold directly from the artists estate by the artist  – it’s an interesting piece!
