Council Means Business

Businesses across Stafford Borough will get the chance to match-make at an event this month.

The ‘We Mean Business’ is running for the third year and hundreds of people are expected through the doors at the event in the village of Acton Trussell near Stafford.

Stafford Borough Council and the Chamber of Commerce are putting on the day following positive feedback in previous years. Thirty local companies have taken the opportunity to raise their profile with an exhibition stand at The Moat House on Thursday 15 October.

And people looking to network with other members of the business community, as well as take advantage of advice and talks on offer throughout the day, can come along for free.

The talks include getting the best from on-line marketing by ExtraMile Communications and different ways available to finance your business by the Stoke and Staffordshire Business Support Helpline.

Local solicitors, Pickering and Butters, will be advising on business matters including employment law, commercial law and property law and local enterprise agency, Stafford Enterprise, will be providing advice to people wishing to set up in business.

Councillor Frances Beatty, Cabinet Member for Planning and Regeneration at the Borough Council, said:

“You don’t want to miss out on a great opportunity for networking, and getting people to understand what your business does, in a cost effective way.

“This event is all about being proactive – whether you want to demonstrate what you have to offer, keen to fix up with another business that can enhance what you do, or just get invaluable advice from experts and those who have done it all before.”
