Parents and students looking for places at The JCB Academy will be arriving in their hundreds this week.
They will be welcomed with a presentation on Saturday 10 October from the school principal, Jim Wade, before taking an exciting tour around the school.
Mr Wade said
“It is fantastic to see that so many prospective parents are booked in to have a look around The JCB Academy and have the opportunity to talk to our students, partners and staff about the great opportunities on offer. Our recent five year anniversary provided a chance to meet former students and to find out how the Academy has enabled their careers to get off to a flying start. The open day will provide potential students with a chance to see how they can benefit from the unique curriculum and learning environment which will boost their careers and future prospects”.
Parents Mr & Mrs Gordan said
“After attending last year’s open day, induction days and the first parents evening at The JCB Academy, I can honestly say both Jack and us feel immensely proud to be part of the Academy and we can’t thank the staff enough for the amazing opportunity. Mr Wade never fails to deliver inspiring presentations to both the students and to parents, each showing the enormous amount of support and opportunity every student has, and each presentation leaves us feeling rather emotional as it is clear that the Academy genuinely cares about the future of every student.”.
This year’s Open Day will be bigger and better than before with our state of the art equipment and amazing industry partners such as Bosch Rexroth, JCB, Oxbridge & Cambridge Exam Board, PrizeWater House-Coopers , Rolls Royce, XYZ Machine Tools, Parker Hannifin & JCB Finance.
Also throughout the day our excellent team of dedicated staff will provide interactive activities, quizzes, competitions, student work, building engines, dissecting hearts, and taking part in virtual welding. Staff, students, parents and school governors will be on hand to answer any questions you may have and make your visit engaging and memorable.
This year we celebrated 99% of students achieving five or more passes at grades A* to C in GCSE with a staggering 100% achieving A* to C in engineering and a total of 89% of students gaining a C or above in mathematics. Over 50% of grades at A level subjects this year were A*,A or B. In extended project over three quarters of grades awarded were at A*, A or B and over two thirds of grades in mathematics were also at the higher grades.
The Academy is the top school in Staffordshire for helping students secure apprenticeships.
