Sponsored Aquababies, with the encouragement of Peppa Pig herself, splashed and kicked to complete the Tommy’s Splashathon, sponsored by Huggies, challenge this month.
The famous pig joined over 240 babies and toddlers in over 17 Splashathon events in just one week. The children all completed various fun swimming challenges such as blowing bubbles, floating on their backs and making big splashes by jumping in the pools.
The swim school, celebrating its 21st year have raised over £6,000 for the charity with sponsors still currently being collected. The most successful splasher being a swimmer from one of the Wolverhampton classes, who has currently raised over £500.00 for the charity, and in second place so far a member from the Stone group who has raised over £480 for the charity. Tommy’s funds research into stillbirth, premature birth and miscarriages. It also provides information and support to parents-to-be.
The charity is close to Aquababies manager Lisa Scott who said:
“I am overwhelmed with the support from parents and their little ones for this charity, which happens to be very personal to me. The whole week was amazing fun for all the children and staff! We set out and hoped to raise £1,000, so to raise over £6,000 is astonishing and words cannot express just how grateful the Aquababies team are”.
