Trentham Monkey Forest were delighted to receive the gold award for ‘Large Visitor Attraction’ in yesterdays’ Enjoy Staffordshire Tourism Awards.
The hotly contested category pitched Staffordshire attractions that receive more than 50,000 visitors per year against one another.
The attractions were judged on a number of criteria including visitor experience, staff training and innovative events and ideas. The Monkey Forest prevailed in this years’ award over such prestigious and established attractions as Alton Towers Resort (highly commended prize) and Drayton Manor Theme Park (silver award).
Sue Wiper, primatologist and park director commented;
“We’re absolutely delighted to have received this award. It’s a fantastic recognition of our staff’s hard work in delivering a brilliant customer experience. It feels even more poignant with us celebrating our 10th year since opening. The monkeys are also justifiably, very proud of themselves!”
Monkey Forest are now automatically entered into the ‘Visit England awards for excellence 2016’ where they will compete against large attractions from across the country.
The Forest is now closed for the 2015 season but will be welcoming customers back when they re-open on February 13th for the 2016 season.
