Emma Redhead, a regular participant at the local Oak Tree Farm Rural Project near Hilderstone,took part in the recent Christmas Pudding ‘5km’ Dash on 28th November, at Chasewater Country Park near Burntwood.
The Oak Tree Farm ‘team member’ has committed to a healthy lifestyle programme over the past 6 months and managed by Becky Davies of Bd Sports Massage and Injury Therapy, has maintained a well balanced diet and exercise plan to significantly reduce her weight and strengthen her body to enable her to participate in her first event.The race took in a full lap of the lake, which Emma completed in under 60minutes!
Oaktree Farm provides training and supported occupation for adults with learning disabilities in a rural environment. Emma is an active member at the farm and used her first race to gain sponsorship from which she has donated £169 to the charity.
David Moreton from Oak Tree Farm was thrilled to receive the donation and said
“The whole team are very proud of Emma and the commitment she has shown to her new lifestyle. To complete a race like this was a fantastic effort and to raise so much through sponsorship just shows the amount of support Emma received! We want to thank Emma for her kind donation, it is amazing what she has achieved!”
