The World of Wedgwood, which opened its doors just four months ago, has scooped two Golds and a Silver at the third annual Enjoy Staffordshire Tourism Awards.
The flagship Wedgwood Tea Room, which offers a wonderfully quintessential afternoon tea experience, was awarded Gold for Tea Room / Coffee Shop of the Year and also a Silver Taste of Staffordshire Tourism Award. In addition, the World of Wedgwood achieved a Gold award within the best Tourism Experience of the Year category.
The awards were independently judged and verified by Service Science, where entrants were reviewed and marked for their commitment to delivering excellent customer service, training and skills for employees, sustainability and environment, along with dedication to best practice, quality of service and product. A total of 94 nominations were received from businesses and organisations across the county.
Heather Broadhurst, General Manager at the World of Wedgwood, said:
“The whole World of Wedgwood team is absolutely delighted to have won three awards, and two of them Gold. Since we opened just a few months ago everyone has worked incredibly hard to provide visitors with the very best experience possible and our amazing success at the Enjoy Staffordshire Tourism Awards is a huge pat on the back for the incredibly dedicated people who work here.
We are looking forward to welcoming many more visitors from the region, and around the world, and continuing to provide them with an inspiring and memorable experience.”
Those businesses awarded Gold and Silver at the Enjoy Staffordshire Tourism Awards 2015 will now automatically go forward to the 2016 VisitEngland Awards for Excellence, which will be held in March 2016.
