Eccleshall resident Evan Rodgers was lucky enough to be chosen to open the first public day of the Autosport International Show 2016 at the N.E.C. Birmingham.

Evan, taken to the show by father Simon, was picked from the crowd to cut the ribbon with 1996 Formula 1 World Champion Damon Hill and 2003 World Rally Champion Petter Solberg.

During the day Evan also got to meet Harry Potter star Rupert Grint, and see some of the rarest and most expensive cars in the world.

Other celebrities at the show included Williams Formula 1 driver Felipe Massa, team principle Claire Williams and TV star Guy Martin.

Autosport International also featured the Williams Martini motorhome, the first time it has been constructed outside of a racing circuit, and was surrounded by eight famous F1 cars from the team’s history showing the great heritage of the iconic British team.

Autosport International plays host to team launches, celebrity appearances and unique live action racing inside Hall 5 at the famous Birmingham venue.

The show is Europe’s premier pre-season motorsport show, attracting in excess of 88,000 visitors over 4 days.
