December was a very busy month in Fulford, commencing with the tradition of Santa ‘flying’ around the village on his magical sledge, ending up on the village green, where hordes of very excited children eagerly awaited him, hot soup was also served. The turnout this year was exceptional with well over 100 people attending.
The Christmas fete followed the next day at the village hall with a myriad of seasonal fare on offer, games for children and of course “Santa’s Grotto” proving as popular as ever.
The Fulford Choir Concert gets bigger and better. It was a sell out with standing room only, a beautiful evening with a glass of wine and a mince pie for all. One of the Village highlights is always “Carols on the Green”, with mulled wine, mince pies and a brass band. Again an incredibly well attended despite the rain!
All of this, combined with 2 school concerts, The Little Learners Nativity and the Church Carol Concert, Fulford provided something for everyone to enjoy the build up to Christmas.
Last but not least was ‘The Bumper Christmas Quiz’ at The Shoulder of Mutton who also provided a superb Christmas menu throughout December; it was bedecked with over 2000 Christmas lights and a beautifully decorated tree outside.
Fulford as usual, has a very full itinerary of events pending for 2016 and with our band of enthusiastic volunteers, it will indeed, be a very good year- again.
