Stone-based performing arts academy, Rooftop Studios, is hosting an open audition on Saturday 23rd January for boys and girls aged 7 – 18 years who love to act, sing and dance for roles in its forthcoming production of the hit Disney show High School Musical.
Following hugely successful runs of the musical at the academy’s sister schools in London and Brighton, the audition call presents an exciting opportunity for youngsters to showcase their skills in a professionally run production this July at the Repertory Theatre in Stoke. Studio Director at Rooftop Studios, Laura Keeling, says:
“High School Musical is a fantastic show and very popular with our students because of the great mix of song and dance numbers. It offers both a fun introduction for anyone wanting to dip their toe into the world of musical theatre, as well as some more ‘meaty’ numbers for experienced performers to get their teeth into. That is why I would encourage anyone curious about taking part – first-timers and seasoned performers – to attend the open audition and see where it takes you.
“There are some truly wonderful opportunities available for all ages – and we’re especially on the lookout for boys who can play basketball! I look forward to seeing some old and new faces when the audition gets underway in a few weeks’ time.”
Successful auditionees will join other talented youngsters from the studio’s Saturday Stage Academy performing arts school and will be expected to attend all sessions, with normal fees applicable, in the run-up to the show; set to take place during July 2016 at the Stoke Rep Theatre.
The open audition will take place on Saturday 23rd January at Rooftop Studios, High Street Arcade, Stone, ST15 8AU, from 11am – 4.30pm. For more information or to register your interest, please contact Studio Director, Laura Keeling, on 07966 539 555 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
