Eccleshall suffered a break in at their ground and are fund raising to try to replace vital equipment.

Colne know only too well the situation they are in, having suffered 3 break ins in just over 12 months.

Stephen Cunningham, dad of 1st team Manager Steve, contacted the club before the game & said he wanted to increase the normal number of raffle prizes and collect as much money as possible to donate to Eccleshall. Colne club officials immediately agreed.

Linda Priestley took her normal raffle collection at the gate, then Steve & his wife Trish travelled round the ground encouraging everyone to dig deep in support of Eccleshall.

Over £100 was raised, a great effort from a gate of 109 spectators.

Colne FC Committee member Ben Metcalfe –

“Knowing all to well the situation Eccleshall were in, having suffered break-ins our self we were contacted by our managers dad, Stephen Cunningham if we could donate the takings of the raffle to Eccleshall.

“He donated raffle prizes himself to help raise £120. It might not seem that much, but it really shows that the non-league community are one big family.”

Colne FC wish Eccleshall well in their efforts to make good after the burglary.
