Maria Banwell, a personal trainer who runs local fitness classes at Eccleshall and Woodseaves, recently organised an event to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation’s WEAR IT BEAT IT campaign, ‘fighting every heartbeat’ campaign.
The event was a sponsored BOXATHON which involved 24 members boxing their way through 3 hours for the night.
The group demonstrated amazing stamina and were surpisingly competitive throughout the evening. That said, they did have a lot of fun in the process and an originally anticipated target of around £500 rocketed to just over an amazing £2100 in just over a week.
Maria told the Gazette …
“We are so grateful to all our friends and family for some extremely generous donations. ”
