Fit for a lord: Lord Stafford and family joined Swynnerton locals in celebrating the February 16th reopening of Swynnerton’s Fitzherbert Arms.
In a joint venture between Lord Stafford, Mary McLaughlin and Tim Bird, the ‘Fitz’ has been restored to a nostalgic village pub offering local ales and home-cooked wholesome food.
Reclaimed and distressed materials give a feel of rural workshop chic, especially in the opened-up bar dining area with its forge hearth, hammer-head tables and plank-lined walls.
The drinks menu features ‘Swynnerton Stout’ brewed by Titanic in Burslem, ‘Fitzherbert Best Better’ by Weetwoods in Cheshire, a 16-strong range of wines by the glass and 30 different ports.
The ‘Fitz Favourites’ section of the food menu offers Porterhouse Burger, 10oz 28 Day aged Prime Rib Steak and Smoked Fish Pie.
“It’s a place for people in the village to come out and meet each other,”
said Swynnerton residents Graham and Jean Harper.
