Stone Community Hub held a highly successful Burns Night fundraising dinner at Sandon Hall on Friday 29th January.

More than 80 guests enjoyed pre-dinner drinks, a welcome on behalf of Lord Sandon, and an excellent dinner with wine, fine whisky and numerous toasts. A charity auction was conducted in great style by guest of honour Nick Hancock. The musical entertainment was a ceilidh led by local Stone band, Blarney Stone.

“Sandon Hall was a great setting and we are very grateful to our Patron, Viscount Sandon for making the Hall available for the evening,”

said Hub Chair Allan Shepherd.

Trustee Ian Fordham commented:

“The evening raised almost £3,000 in support of the Charity. We would like to thank Nick Hancock for not only supporting us but also providing the most entertaining auction most of us can ever have experienced! We were delighted by the support of more than 20 local businesses who donated great auction and raffle prizes – and of course the generosity of our 80 guests.”

Stone Community Hub is organising a quiz night at Granvilles on the evening of Sunday 17th April. For further information, contact Karen Wardell on 01785 812417.
