Children from Manor Hill First School in Stone have been focusing on road safety with the help of Mick Heywood from the Eccleshall depot of the logistics company GIST. All of the children entered a competition to design a road safety themed decal to go on the side of one of their trucks.
The winners design will appear on the side of the truck unit when the company return to school in March. They will then have the chance to sit in the truck unit and to show the children how to be safe on the roads near trucks and other vehicles.
Emma Shannon, Assistant Head Teacher at the school said
“the children are very excited about a truck turning up at school and they having been working very hard to learn more about road safety. We are very proud of their designs and welcome the efforts that GIST have made to help our children be more aware of dangers on the road.”
