During the February Farmers Market in Stone another new public access defibrillator, which is located on the shop front of Stone Oatcakes and Milkshakes was unveiled, and the leader of Rotary in Stone, Tim Joyce, was there to celebrate the event.
This public access defibrillator was supported not just by Stone Rotary, but also by Stone Festival, Stone Town Council and Griffins of Stone.
Speaking after the event, Tim Joyce said that Stone Rotary was proud to support this initiative which had been funded from the Santa Sleigh collections. He noted that we are all grateful to Stone Oatcakes and Milkshakes for allowing the defibrillator to be mounted on their premises – making it readily available to people at the busy south end of Stone High Street.
A successful Health Awareness Day in July 2015 will be followed by another one at the March Farmers Market, when members of the public will be invited to have some very basic health checks, such as blood pressure, blood glucose, height and weight, carried out in Stone Rotary’s home, the Crown Hotel.
Stone Rotary welcomes men and women of all ages who want to put something back into the local Community, whilst having fun with a group of likeminded people. Any local residents who would like to know more should contact the Club, either by e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org or call on 01785 819807.
