Staffordshire YFC award outstanding members!

On Sunday, 7th February 2016, over 160 members of Staffordshire County Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs took part in a variety of Public Speaking competitions including Member of the Year (17 and Under) and Male and Female Member of the Year (18 and Over).

Elizabeth Chapman aged 16 of Eccleshall YFC was the winner of the 17 and under Section. Competitors were required to produce a portfolio giving details of their activities within YFC over the previous 12 months as well as information about school, career aspirations, and activities outside YFC. An informal interview and power point presentation also took place on the day. Elizabeth, has been an active member of Eccleshall Young Farmers for two years and has taken part in many YFC competitions and enjoys regularly helping out at the club. She lives in Acton, Nr Newcastle Under Lyme and is currently studying for her A Levels at Newcastle Under Lyme School.

The Female Member of the Year was won by Harriet Wilson, aged 24 and last year’s Club Chairman for Eccleshall YFC. Harriet has been a member of YFC for 10 years and has competed at County, Area and National level in many competitions as well as taking on roles such as County Competitions Chairman, Under Eighteens Chairman and more recently has become a Council rep for Staffordshire to attend the National Federation council meetings.
