Katharine House Hospice are excited to announce the return of their ever-popular running event, the 10k run and 5k fun run which returns to Shugborough on Sunday 9th October 2016.

Events Fundraiser Lisa Carson said:

“The addition of the 5K fun run proved very popular last year and it was a record year for both attendance and fundraising. The event raised in excess of £20,000 for the hospice which is absolutely incredible.”

The 10k Run which is the perfect event for novice runners, families and seasoned professionals alike, is part of a busy events schedule for the Hospice which needs to raise £2.7m per year to provide free services to local people and their carers.

Stafford Railway Building Society are kindly sponsoring the event for the seventh year running. Their support means that more money raised from the event will go towards providing free care at the hospice.

“This year we have introduced an online booking system and disposable chip timing for participants, provided by JC Race Solutions. We are also offering runners an early bird discount if they book before 1st July 2016. If they sign up now they will not only guarantee their place but have extra time to train and raise valuable sponsorship. We are extremely grateful for the sponsorship support from individual runners as this really makes a difference to the Hospice”

“Last year’s event was a budget-buster and we hope that this year’s event will grow even further. It’s a spectacular venue, and a great addition to any runner’s calendar”.

Katharine House Hospice provides free care and support for adults and their families across Mid-Staffordshire coping with a progressive illness. It relies upon the generosity of the local community to help generate 75% of funds needed to run its range of vital services.
