See why Aston Marina’s a ‘cut above’ during National Butcher’s Week

To celebrate National Butcher’s Week, Aston Marina near Stone is laying on a series of special events designed to highlight the locally produced, high-welfare meat on offer at its own on-site butchery and encourage people to use their local butcher.
National Butcher’s week takes place between 14th – 20th March, and the Marina is hoping to encourage people to learn more about meat – how it is farmed, sourced and produced – and, most importantly of all, how to properly cook and enjoy it at home.
Throughout the week, the marina will be offering a Taste the Difference experience, where visitors can taste test a free sample from a cut of meat off the Marina’s butchery counter and compare it to a supermarket alternative. A different cut will be available to try for free each day of the week – including venison, pork, beef, chicken, turkey.
There will also daily butchery demonstrations inviting visitors to ‘See More of What Matters’ and watch a highly-skilled Master Butcher at work between 11am – 12pm. Finally, visitors can discover why they’ll be better buying their meat at the marina by comparing the prices of its meat to that of the supermarkets.
Director, Helen Webb, thinks that people might well be surprised by what they can get for their money:
Director, Helen Webb
“National Butcher’s week is a great opportunity for us to bang the drum for local butchers. Your local butcher has knowledge about meat that you won’t find anywhere else, and we want to encourage people to tap into that knowledge and reap the benefits.
“It also gives us the chance to showcase our own fantastic locally sourced produce. By sourcing all of our meat within a 20 mile radius we ensure that our produce meets the highest standards of animal welfare and is packed with natural goodness. Alongside traditional meats such as beef, lamb, pork and venison we offer a fabulous selection of free-range game. This includes free-range poultry, duck, goose, partridge, pheasant, pigeon, guinea fowl, rabbit, wild boar and much more.
We also work hard to remain competitive against the supermarkets – in addition to offering great prices year round, we regularly run meat hamper deals and special offers to ensure that meat from our butchery counter is not only great quality but great value too.”
The special events at Aston Marina will take place to mark National Butcher’s week from Monday 14th – Sunday 20th March. For more information visit http://www.astonmarina.co.uk/ or email info@astonmarina.co.uk
