Local Dementia Care Charity Launch Smartphone App To Support Carers And Celebrate Dementia Awareness Week

Approach, the Staffordshire based Dementia Care Charity have launched an Approach smartphone app to help keep service users better informed.

The App supplies updates of News, Events, Information about their Day Opportunities Groups, Carer Cafes and much more.

It also acts as a handy reminder for dates with the Approach calendar which will stay updated, including all of our carers cafe dates, training courses and other Approach events.

The App will also share general information fact sheets about life with dementia which will be available for download and quarterly newsletters.

It also features a gallery page where photos will be uploaded from all of our events and you may just spot a familiar face or two!

The app is free to download for iPhones, Windows and Android Phones. You can download the app by searching in your app store for “Approach Staffordshire” (using the quotation marks in the Google play store) or by using this link: http://jsa4.me/approach

When the app is installed, please allow “Push Notifications” this allows the user to get notifications each time we add something new to the app. The app is also compatible with iPads, but please be aware to download it you have to search the app store in “iPhone Only” mode for the app to appear. You can also filter information by our services in the categories page (under settings).

Approach CEO Will Boyce said

“This is a great development for us as it will not only act as a reminder tool for our service users but will also be a great communication point and information centre for our carers. We celebrate our 35th Anniversary in 2016 and see ourselves as being able to embrace new technology and have a service fit for the future”
