Stone Youth Theatre to host open audition for ‘13’ the musical

Stone Youth Theatre is busy preparing for its third production, the musical 13, with a pre-audition workshop on Thursday 9th June followed by open auditions at Rooftop Studios on Thursday, 16th June 2016.

The hit Broadway show that sported a cast solely made up of teenagers, ‘13’ follows a teenage boy as he moves from small-town Indiana to New York City; navigating coming of age issues and the complex social hierarchies of High School.

Auditions are open to youngsters aged 13 – 23 years and successful cast members will then take part in a rigorous rehearsal schedule from September 2016 until the show takes centre stage at the Stoke Rep Theatre in March 2017.

Laura Keeling, studio director at Rooftop Studios which is home to Stone Youth Theatre, says:

“13 is a fantastic musical for teenagers to perform as it deals with issues that are close to home. It will showcase the talents of a youthful cast brilliantly and really allow them to shine. We’re really excited about the auditions and casting this show as we have so many talented youngsters already keen to be involved and you never know who you’ll discover through the audition process.

“We’d strongly advise all those looking to audition on the 16th also attend the workshop on the 9th to give them the opportunity to learn the audition material.”
