1st Walton Rainbows – Pennies galore for Great Ormond Street Hospital

1st Walton Rainbows decided to hold a Patron’s tea party rather than a Patron’s lunch to celebrate the Queen’s birthday.

They dressed in red, white and blue, played party games ,enjoyed jam sandwiches ,jelly and ice cream and decorated ‘promise jars’ to take home.

Every time the girls were kind and helpful (part of their Rainbow Promise) they were given pennies to collect in their jars. At the end of term the jars were returned to Rainbows, the pennies counted and an amazing £71 was collected .

The girls took a vote and decided to send the money to Great Ormond Street Hospital, a very worthy cause.
