Seasonal summer ingredients are showcased to perfection by the new summer menu at Aston Marina’s waterside Bistro.
Locally sourced ingredients are once again the star of the show, with a host of mouth-watering new dishes appearing alongside old favourites like the Bistro’s famed steaks from the grill, gourmet pies, beer battered fish and chips and its legendary burgers.
The new dishes span starters, mains and puddings with starters including Oak-smoked Cheddleton, chorizo & jalapeno pepper bruschetta with a spicy tomato and coriander relish, Heritage tomato & buffalo mozzarella summer salad finished with sweet basil pesto and pine nuts, Aston Marina continental cured meats – also available as a sharing platter – accompanied by local Artisan Bread, sun-blushed tomatoes, baby cornichon & Italian Dolchelatte and Free range duck egg with griddled brioche, smoked streaky bacon & wild mushrooms. In the mains, summer dishes include Teriyaki-infused duo of Gressingham duck accompanied by macerated blackcurrants, egg noodles & bok choi; Simply-grilled whole Cornish plaice with new season baby mids, sauté of marsh samphire & crayfish tails; the veggie Home-baked summer pulse, asparagus & pecorino feuillette, served with soft poached egg & hollandaise sauce and the 12 hour-smoked barbeque baby back ribs with sweet potato wedges, sour cream & red cabbage slaw.
The dessert menu also has some summertime additions, including Greek yoghurt & raspberry fool with ginger biscuit & honeycomb ice cream and English summer strawberries, Pimm’s jelly & ice cream. Director at Aston Marina, Helen Webb, says:
“This menu really celebrates the very best of the British summertime; giving the delicious, seasonal ingredients the chance to shine. We’ve aimed to include something for everyone, with several of the new dishes also appearing on our Gluten Free menu.”
As an added bonus, if the weather’s fine you can enjoy dining alfresco in the Marina’s beautifully landscaped gardens and decked area overlooking the water. To reserve a table call 01785 819702.
