The Real Thing – Stone Revellers present play by Tom Stoppard – 7th Sept – Sat 10th

The Real Thing

Stone Revellers are proud to present this thought-provoking play by Tom Stoppard.

Tickets now available for our next production!  This funny, touching and intelligent play looks at our old friend ‘love’ and asks…how do we know when it’s ‘The Real Thing’?

The Real Thing, Sir Tom Stoppard’s portrait of a playwright who succumbs to the emotional ravages he puts his characters through, has led a charmed life on the West-End and Broadway, it has had two acclaimed runs (in 1984 and 2000), won multiple Tony Awards, and proved that Stoppard, a famously intellectual dramatist, can write from the heart as well. So Stone revellers have a top class script, a great cast and once again we will be doing something a little bit different inside St Michael’s Hall…

Taking inspiration from some incredible plays seen at the New Vic recently, we have decided to stage this show as close to ‘in the round’ as we can achieve, it’s not quite 360, but we hope to give our audience an immersive experience perhaps like they are peering through an open window in to the lives and living rooms of our characters”. (Mark Doran – Director)

This is also Stone Revellers first production where tickets are available to purchase online, which we hope will make life easier for our audiences. There are no allocated seats so ticketing is therefore unreserved. This is a directorial decision due to the nature of this show’s seating plan. If you still prefer that personal touch, tickets will of course continue to be available from our friends at Home and Colour Centre on Stone High St.
