From Kathleen Lloyd (Committee Member)

May I tell you a little about the Ladies Fellowship Meeting, St. John’s Church, Stone.

This year we celebrated 60 years of fellowship in the Stone community. A founder member, Mrs. Olive Skellern, is still a member of our committee and has been since it began in the now empty church in the North of Stone.

Although we now do not have a church building as a meeting place, like many of the organisations within our Church community we still carry on the work within Stone.

We now meet at Bromfield Court on the last Thursday of the month and have a wide and very varied programme which has held us together and in fact grown and strengthened the Group..

We are an outward looking Fellowship and have been able to make donations to causes which have needed help. This year we were able to send a donation to the Flood Victims in Cumbria and also to ‘The Friends of Matthew Rusike Children’s Home’ in Zimbabwe.

We welcome all to our meetings , come and chat have a tea or coffee and biscuit and make new friends.

Our programme for the coming session is:

29th Sept. Curing Polio in India…Speaker Philip Leason (Local well know historian).

27th Oct An afternoon with Rev’d Pauline Salter (Supt.Minister…Stafford Circuit).

24th Nov Celebrating Christmas.

Would it be possible to let people know that we are a thriving group and would welcome anyone who would like to join us. Bringing with them new ideas would be an added bonus.
