Stone turned out in force, with thousands of people wanting to show how proud they were of Joe, one of their own.
The parade started from the top of the High Street then went along Stafford Street down into Westbridge Park.
Joe was chauffeured along the route in a classic Silver Rolls Royce, waving his Union Jack at the crowds of well wishers and family and friends alike.
When he arrived at Stafford and Stone canoe club Joe changed from his Rolls into his kayak and was lifted above the heads of the crowds, a kayaking tradition for winners, and carried around Westbridge Park up to the stage.
Stone town Mayor Cllr. Jim Davies welcomed Joe onto the stage and they both made speeches, the crowd cheered with approval, the loudest cheers heard in Stone ever?
Local band The Cartoon Kings rounded off the day with a perfect party set of crowd pleasers and many joined in the singalong.
Well done Joe from all here at the Gazette, Roll on 2020!
