September 24th Antique, Rare Pottery & Fine Art sale at Potteries Auctions
Antique & Fine Art sale will be a TWO DAY SALE held on SATURDAY 24th & SUNDAY 25th September
Potteries Auctions have a varied sale of rare 20th century pottery, antiques, jewellery, silverware, furniture, military items and collectables.
The sale consists of a number of interesting items such as a rare Guitar, Swords, Ivory, Arts & Crafts Furniture, Koffers, rare Coins, Postcards, a letter from Clementine Churchill from 10 Downing Street, a never been seen before Lise Moorcroft collection, rare Beswick, rare Royal Doulton Prestige figures and character jugs, original paintings by local artists, a large selection of antique furniture, not to mention collections of Charlotte Rhead, Wedgwood, Flambe, Beatrix Potter, Bunnykins, Wade and Royal Crown Derby.
We are also please to announce the September sale will also feature a collection of Lise Moorcroft Pottery. Lise Moorcroft was born in 1965 in Burslem, Stoke-On-Trent and is the daughter of Walter Moorcroft, and granddaughter of William Moorcroft. After the recent death of Lise’s mother in 2016 and the clearing of the family home a large collection, which has not been seen before, has been uncovered in her old studio situated in the annex. As well as pieces found in the outhouse, the attic and garage. This collection dates from the 1980’s to the present day. The collection made up of many one off’s, will be sold, unreserved in our September 24th Antique, Rare Pottery & Fine Art sale. Come and preview the collection and meet Lise on the evening of the 23rd September, 5pm – 8pm
19th Century Parlour guitar lablled ‘Louis Panormo 1826’ Complete with coffin case – Estimate: £800 – £1200
Louis Panormo, 1784-1862, had a workshop in Bloomsbury, London. Many guitars were made, it may even have been a small factory. Today, his guitars are much sought after and often restored with the intention being used. They have a wonderful tone and can be a delight to play.
ROYAL DOULTON PRESTIGE FIGURES
Alan Maslonkowski worked at Royal Doulton from 1968 – 2006 and had written in to his contract that he was to retain one piece of each model that was put into production, these pieces are from his own personal collection.

A number of original works from local artists will be featured in the sale, including Harold Bennett. Harold bennett was a watercolour artist who joined Burgess & Leigh pottery in1929 and worked alongside Charlotte Rhead designing various successful tableware ranges and tube lining his own designs. he became art director and worked until the 1950’s
