Sewing Bee to Material Zee at the Ancient High House

Saturday 1st October – From 10am to 4pm

At The Ancient High House, Greengate Street, Stafford, ST16 2JA.

The Borough Broderers and other experts from the world of stitching, sewing, embroidery and knitting and a range of other material crafts will be in residence at the museum. The practitioners will be displaying and demonstrating their various arts and in some cases giving people the chance to try them out for themselves. There will also be stalls for people to browse or buy from.

The Borough Broderers will be available to show and discuss the wealth of embroidered work that they have produced for the High House over the years. This includes drapes and curtains for the four poster bed, replica Tudor tunics and dress, and a wonderful stump work box emblazoned with embroidered details of Stafford.
Admission to both the event and the museum is free. Charges for workshops may apply.
