Stone Chrysanthemum and Dahlia Society Show

The 30th Annual Open Show of the Stone Chrysanthemum and Dahlia Society was held at Walton Community Centre on Saturday September 17th.

There was exceptional attendance which was encouraging as new local people were exhibiting specimen blooms for the first time.

For example – the hard working Show Secretary Neil Hammersley had 1st and 2nd prize in the Novice section for single floating dahlias

Stone Town Mayor Jim Davies and Mayoress Lin Davies were accompanied around the room by the Society President Mick Whitehurst.

An original member of the Society Dave Bond is presented with the Emma Williams Shield for the member with the most points in the Dahlia section by the Mayor Jim Davies.

New members are welcomed to the Society’s monthly meetings held at the Christ Church Centre, Christ Church Way, Stone.

The next meeting is on Thursday October 13th at 7-45pm and the speaker is Mr Jack Willgoss the title of his talk ‘Autumn Colour’.
