In November 2015 Becky from Barlaston held a charity Christmas market and it was such a success that she started a monthly food and craft market in June this year.
The monthly market is usually held on the third Saturday of the month in Barlaston Village Hall from 10am until midday and has been going from strength to strength featuring local producers and suppliers and offering the residents of Barlaston a unique and friendly shopping experience on their doorstep. Unfortunately, because of a prior booking, the market couldn’t take place in November so Becky has, once again, being planning what she calls ‘special edition’ markets that are themed and aimed at raising money for charity.
The November market is, unusually, an evening market held on Friday 18th November from 8pm to 1030pm.
Barlaston Village Hall will be transformed for the evening ‘Be Pampered and Prepare to Party Market’ and customers will be able to treat themselves to a glass of prosecco, adult cupcakes, holistic therapy treatments and a bit of luxury shopping as well as enjoy some talks and demonstrations supporting the market’s theme.
Stalls for the event confirmed so far include:
BLIS Cakes (Becky’s business also based in Barlaston),
L & P Candles,
Shaw Holistic Therapies,
South Hill Designs,
If the Dress Fits,
Bath Bits & Beyond
Knit & Tick
The event is supported by, and will be raising funds for, the Douglas Macmillan Hospice in Trentham.
The Christmas market, on Saturday 10th December from 10am to 2pm, is planned to be even bigger and better than last year; there will be food and craft stalls, a tea room area, free mince pies for the first 25 customers, face painting and a Christmas ‘photo booth’ competition. The Christmas market will be raising money for Make-A-Wish UK.
All markets, including the special edition markets, are free entry and anybody visiting is sure to be given a warm welcome.
