Ready, steady, BAKE! Aston Marina launches ‘bake-off’ to raise funds for Donna Louise Trust
As the country’s best bakers have us enthralled as they battle it out over French Fancies and Belgian Buns on TV, you could show off your own skills in an exciting new charity competition – with the chance of winning a luxury £50 hamper along the way!
If you fancy your chances as ‘Star Baker’, Aston Marina’s charity bake-off could be right up your street – and the great news is all proceeds will go direct to local children’s hospice charity, the Donna Louise Trust. To enter, you need to do is pick up an entry form and choose your category
– 1) A flavoured savoury loaf
2) A sponge cake of your choice – complete the entry form, and submit your baked item for judging in Aston Marina’s Farm Shop over the weekend of 22nd & 23rd of October 2016.
Multiple entries are permitted at a cost of £2.50 per entry – with all entry monies being donated to the Donna Louise Trust.
The judging will be carried out over the course of the weekend by the marina’s head chef directors and farm shop managers, who will be judging on flavour and texture. Director Helen Webb says:
“Baking is a national obsession, and we pride ourselves at the marina on being cake and bread addicts – we believe it’s essential in making our baked goods as good as they can be! We’re proud to support the Donna Louise Trust and thought it would be fun to capitalise on baking mania by having a little fun whilst raising funds for this very worthy cause. The competition’s star baker will get to take home a luxury food hamper worth £50, packed with goodies that have been hand-picked from the shelves of our farm shop.”
