Rotary clubs throughout the district of Staffordshire, Shropshire and parts of the West Midlands are being asked to put forward young candidates for no fewer than seven forthcoming Youth Services Competitions.

The 55 clubs throughout the district are being advised of closing dates for entry forms for Young Chef, Young Musician, Youth Speaks, Young Photographer, Young Persons Design and Innovation, Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) and Young Writer.

Semi finals, district finals and regional finals will all be held in the run-up to the national finals of the competitions.

Age guidelines for Young Chef are 11 to 17 years with the national finals on May 20 2017.

Young Musician, 17 years and under, national finals on May 6 2017.

Youth Speaks, 11 to 13 years and 14 to 17 years, national finals at Thomas Telford School on May 7 2017.

Young Photographer, primary up to 11 years, secondary 12 to 16 years and college 16 to 18 years, national finals on May 8 2017.

Young Persons Design and Innovation, 14 to 18 years, GCSE and A Level, joint final on July 2 2017.

Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA), 16 to 18 years at the start of the camp which will take place between August 13 and 18 2017.

Young Writer, junior seven to 10 years, intermediate 11 to 13 years and senior 14 to 17 years, national finals on May 8 2017.
