Stone Stroke Club have just received a grant from the Staffordshire Local Community Fund of £750 through Councillor Phillip Jones.
The grant was to cover travelling expenses on their outings this year, as they have to use coaches with a lift and the cost is quite expensive. The grant was very much appreciated by all at the club.
Stone Stroke Club meets every Wednesday from 10.30am – 2.30pm Members enjoy coffee and chat followed by gentle exercises. They then have a quiz, games, bingo or craft. After a hot lunch they play cards or Scrabble until returning home. Members are picked up from home and returned after 2.30pm.
During the summer months they have 5 outings with one outing in November for Christmas shopping. During the winter months they arrange a talk each month – and carers have a break every Wednesday!
